Dear Visitor,

You can find here the programs of the classes I teach at Sofia University. My teaching includes three master's classes and two bachelor's classes (see the right column).

I teach a class (45 hours of lectures) of Molecular Genetics for fourth-grade bachelor's students of Molecular Biology (MB), see the image below, and a class of Introduction to Bioinformatics (IB) for bachelor's students of Argo-biotechnology (AB) at Sofia University. I also teach in a Ph.D. program in Genetics.

Three master's classes of Synthetic Biology, Genomics, and Bioinformatics and Molecular Evolution (see the image below), are taught by me in Bulgarian and in English to students of different master's programs such as Genetics and Genomics (GG), and Molecular (Genetic) and Cellular Engineering (MCE). I am conducting both lectures and exercises for these classes.

I am also the head and leading lecturer of a Post-Diploma Qualification (СДК) in Current Aspects of Biology: Bioinformatics, Genomics & Synthetic Biology (СЪВРЕМЕННИ АСПЕКТИ НА БИОЛОГИЯТА: БИОИНФОРМАТИКА, ГЕНОМИКА и СИНТЕТИЧНА БИОЛОГИЯ).

All classes are mandatory and have 30 hours of lectures and exercises except for the Synthetic Biology class, which is eligible for students of Genetics and Genomics and has 30 hours of lectures and 30 exercises. All classes for students of Genetics and Genomics are offered in Bulgarian and English.

For the time being, 6 doctoral students, 7 master students of Molecular (Genetic) and Cellular Engineering and 9 master students of Genetics and Genomics in English or in Bulgarian have successfully completed their theses in my laboratory. Those 16 master and 6 doctoral students, who graduated in my laboratory, are from 5 different nationalities. Applications of master and doctoral students for doing their theses in my laboratory are welcome.

Four young scientists working under my supervision on my projects have won 4 awards (1, 2, 3, 4) from 3 national science contests, 1 start-up award, and 2 teacher awards (1 and 2) since 2021, aggregated 7 awards! You can also the News paper on the awards in ScienceBG, in Bulgarian or on the website of Sofia University in English. You can send me your feedback here.

I am currently supervising 2 doctoral students at Sofia University: Antoniya Georgieva and Vanya Dyakova.

Bravo Georgi - the doctoral student of the year 2022 of Sofia University! Georgi works on several research projects, including DN13/14/20.12.2017, KP-06-H31/18/13.12.2019, and KP-06-M33/5/18.12.2019 awarded by the BNSF (see the image below - for more information click here).

Bravo Antoniya - the first prize winner in the national contest "Young and Energetic Scientists" in Ph.D. category, 2021 (see the image below - for more information click here)!
